The new Flytrex Core v2 is smaller, lighter and easier to install than its predecessor. Adding a “black box” like data logger to your DJI NAZA equipped aircraft (Phantom, Phantom 2, Phantom 2 Vision, Vision Plus, FC40) and others, the Flytrex is a clever little piece of technology that allows you to plot and measure speeds, altitudes, distances and other parameters on each flight. You download these to the Flytrex website at www.flytrex.com and can, if you wish, choose to publish them publicly or just keep them private. You can see all your flight stats including a Google Maps overlay of the flight, and can even export to a KML file so you can view the flight in 3D in Google Earth. You can export as a csv file and then use software like Dashware (www.dashware.net) to add overlaid information from the Flytrex onto your flight video.
My “On the Kitchen Table” videos are mainly aimed at newcomers to multirotors, quadcopters, drones and UAVs, particularly to the DJI product range, and the Phantom line in particular. I have how to’s, product reviews, tips, tricks, hints and information for beginners and those in the early stages of the hobby. I film “on the kitchen table” to show people that, like me, you don’t need a workshop and an array of specialist equipment and years of experience to get started and progress with flying these amazing aircraft and enjoying making great aerial videos and stills. So if you have bought, or are thinking of buying, a DJI Phantom, Phantom FC40, Phantom 2, Phantom 2 Vision or Vision+ or Plus, or even building your own DJI Flamewheel F450 or F550, we can do it… on the kitchen table!
