How to manually set a new Home Position on your DJI Vision, Plus, Phantom 2, etc

June 20, 2014

If you want to make your DJI Phantom 2, Vision or Vision Plus set a new Home location then here’s how you can do it – in any flight mode. I also show you how it can be used for increasing the failsafe return to home height, but this may only work if you are in NAZA mode. I left in the bit at the end where I couldn’t quite get it to take to show you that you need to get the timing right! DISCLAIMER: You do this at your own risk, don’t blame me if you crash whilst trying to flap your S2 switch about…

I’ve tested this on a P2 and a Vision, and I’ve seen reports of others testing it sucesfully on a Vision Plus (or Vision+) – it should work on an FC40 and Phantom 1 but I don’t have either of those to test.

My “On the Kitchen Table” videos are mainly aimed at newcomers to multirotors, quadcopters, drones and UAVs, particularly to the DJI product range, and the Phantom line in particular. I have how to’s, product reviews, tips, tricks, hints and information for beginners and those in the early stages of the hobby. I film “on the kitchen table” to show people that, like me, you don’t need a workshop and an array of specialist equipment and years of experience to get started and progress with flying these amazing aircraft and enjoying making great aerial videos and stills. So if you have bought, or are thinking of buying, a DJI Phantom, Phantom FC40, Phantom 2, Phantom 2 Vision or Vision+ or Plus, or even building your own DJI Flamewheel F450 or F550, we can do it… on the kitchen table!
