Flytrex Live flight debrief, inc videos of the flight and telemetry view

July 28, 2014

Missed the live Flytrex Live flight? Here’s a debrief of what happened and some video caps of what you would have seen if you logged on – plus some video and stills from the day itself.

For UK purchasers a good, non-expiring pay-as-you-go SIM product for Flytrex Live is available from here http://giffgaff.com/orders/affiliate/simonnewton56 (I have tested this SIM and it works fine). That’s an affiliate link and I’ll get a little bit towards my airtime balance and so will you (currently £5 bonus) if you sign up using it. If you’d rather not, then you can sign up direct here: http://giffgaff.com/orders/free-sim Up to you, I like to give the choice in case you don’t think I deserve a tip. 🙂

Thanks to Nigel Harrision for permission to use his screen captures of the Flytrex Live output – here’s a playlist of his showing much more: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4D2bJn1UNqQ&list=UUDjFM4L7D8DBPGoLjP4QUyA

Thanks to Dave S for the beer, for turning up and for the in-flight video. His channel is here: http://www.youtube.com/user/dshac671 and the UK DJI pilot’s Facebook group I mentioned is here: http://www.facebook.com/groups/174107632800459/

Thanks to Paul M for turning up and for getting the tripod out for some ground video of the general messing about – his channel is here: http://www.youtube.com/user/morgiza

My “On the Kitchen Table” videos are mainly aimed at newcomers to multirotors, quadcopters, drones and UAVs, particularly to the DJI product range, and the Phantom line in particular. I have how to’s, product reviews, tips, tricks, hints and information for beginners and those in the early stages of the hobby. I film “on the kitchen table” to show people that, like me, you don’t need a workshop and an array of specialist equipment and years of experience to get started and progress with flying these amazing aircraft and enjoying making great aerial videos and stills. So if you have bought, or are thinking of buying, a DJI Phantom, Phantom FC40, Phantom 2, Phantom 2 Vision or Vision+ or Plus, or even building your own DJI Flamewheel F450 or F550, we can do it… on the kitchen table!
