New Flytrex Live 3G announced…

October 24, 2014

Many people in the USA liked the idea of the Flytrex Live GPS tracker and flight logger, but didn’t like the fact it used the 2G network… Well there’s a new 3G version just announced that plays nicely with networks in the US and the rest of the world, and adds a few tweaks to improve performance compared to the V1.

At time of filming accepting pre-orders at , it works with all versions of the DJI Phantom (including Vision+), standalone NAZA V2, Blade 350 QX and APM machines. It’s been tested by a group of user in the the USA, and I’ve been beta testing this unit in the UK and it works fine with the GiffGaff network sim I used for the 2G Live. £10 minimum top-up, no expiry of credit, no monthly top-up required and a max data charge of 20p per day. It also works fine with my phone’s sim which is of course running a standard 3G contract. If you want to use a standalone GiffGaff sim then you can get £5 of additional credit free when topping up £10 if you use my handy affiliate link here: 🙂

My “On the Kitchen Table” videos are mainly aimed at newcomers to multirotors, quadcopters, drones and UAVs, particularly to the DJI product range, and the Phantom line in particular. I have how to’s, product reviews, tips, tricks, hints and information for beginners and those in the early stages of the hobby. I film “on the kitchen table” to show people that, like me, you don’t need a workshop and an array of specialist equipment and years of experience to get started and progress with flying these amazing aircraft and enjoying making great aerial videos and stills. So if you have bought, or are thinking of buying, a DJI Phantom, Phantom FC40, Phantom 2, Phantom 2 Vision or Vision+ or Plus, or even building your own DJI Flamewheel F450 or F550, we can do it… on the kitchen table!
