My “On the Kitchen Table” videos are mainly aimed at newcomers to multirotors, quadcopters, drones and UAVs, particularly to the DJI product range, and the Phantom line in particular. I have how to’s, product reviews, tips, tricks, hints and information for beginners and those in the early stages of the hobby. I film “on the kitchen table” to show people that, like me, you don’t need a workshop and an array of specialist equipment and years of experience to get started and progress with flying these amazing aircraft and enjoying making great aerial videos and stills. So if you have bought, or are thinking of buying, a DJI Phantom 3, Phantom 2, Phantom 2 Vision or Vision+ or Plus, Inspire 1 or even building your own DJI Flamewheel F450 or F550, or considering the Lily, 3DR Solo, Yuneec or more then you too can do it… on the kitchen table!

Yes, I tweeted about that. I think DJI were rather relieved that it wasn’t a ubiquitous Phantom of theirs for a change… It’s not the aircraft, it’s the idiots flying them this way. It’s why I’m working with the CAA on something at the moment – the more we can educate people as to WHY you shouldn’t fly in certain ways or places, the more that reasonable people will understand it’s not just about being “fun police”. Those that still refuse to listen/be educated/see sense need the book throwing at them. At least in the UK we have a perfectly clear bit of legislation, we just need more people to be prosecuted for breaking it. I see so many vids of people flying in built-up areas, flying at night/dusk, flying over people, etc. If education doesn’t work (or isn’t listened to) then there will be more draconian restrictions in the future I’m sure – along with some sort of licensing or registration to trace the bad guys…
